Pre-School

Making Learning Fun

All Saints Pre-school is an all-welcoming and all-inclusive pre-school. We have a large light-filled hall with free-flow play in both hall and garden.
We promote learning through play and child-centred learning. We celebrate diversity and individuality and welcome all abilities and disabilities in a caring, respectful and safe environment.

All Saints Pre-school has excellent leadership with over 40 years of Early Learning experience and we pride ourselves in celebrating all successes, not just academic ones.

All Saints Pre-school has a key worker system and works with the parent/carer to ensure that all their child needs are met. We have an excellent and proven track record for Special Educational Needs and Disability. Please speak with us to find out more.

Exciting & Engaging Activities

Music and singing activities are an important part of daily routine. Music helps to improve children’s brain power and memory functions, stimulating the part of the brain that is responsible for reading, maths and emotional development. Group classes require peer interaction and communication, which encourage teamwork, as children must collaborate.

Food preparation and cooking is fantastic for social-emotional development: hands-on cooking activities help children develop confidence and skill. Following recipes encourages children to be self-directed and independent, and it also teaches them to follow directions and develop problem-solving skills.

Gardening is a healthy, fun activity for children. Children develop new skills and learn about science and nature from growing their own food. There is a variety of interesting activities children can be involved in, such as planting, mulching and weeding, with opportunities for older children to use some tools under supervision, helping grow their sense of confidence and responsibility.

Our garden is free-flow as this provides a richer learning environment. It allows children to move between the indoors and outdoors as they wish and this freedom offers many learning and development opportunities:

  • Children develop greater independence.
  • Some children learn better outside – the range of activities on offer in the garden will allow children who enjoy the outdoors to access just as many academic opportunities as those who choose to play inside.
  • Develop decision-making skills – children choose where they want to be and what activity they want to do, which gives children practice in choosing and dealing with the consequence of their choices.
  • Freedom – access to the outdoors gives children space to run around and expel energy, which boosts mental and physical well-being and confidence.
  • Develop an understanding of their environment and surroundings – learning the difference between natural and man-made environments.

Settling In

All Saints Pre-school realises that starting pre-school is a huge step, and each child responds differently. We are able to support and help your child settle so they are happy and thrive.

Our staff are multilingual, speaking Urdu and Hindi and having some understanding of Panjabi and Turkish. On your first visits to us staff will ask for some key phrases in your home language if your child is not yet speaking English, to further help them settle.

Fundraising

When we are able, we run coffee mornings for parents to meet each other and to help with fundraising ideas, holding various fun and successful fundraising events throughout the year.

Committee

The Pre-school is a charity-run organisation overseen by a committee made up of parent/carers and church volunteers.

We welcome parent/carers’ input. The committee not only help with decision making but also with fundraising and social events.

If you and your child would like to be part of our Pre-school and your child is aged between 2 and 4 years, please contact us via email allsaintspreschoola@googlemail.com or phone 020 8928 9810 so that we can chat and arrange a “play n stay” session.
